yes believe it or not linux runs amazing things even without us knowing. i might sound like a linux lover but im not im stating the truth. Linux is actually an operating system on some toasters... its scary but if it can run a toatser it can probably put doom 2 on an iPod (no idea how i came to that conclusion...) but basically its real thanx to linux :D

the "HL port" is actually a PWAD for Doom, it's not the real Half-Life (of which, the source code has never been released so it's not even possible to port).

john carmack has stated in interview that he doesn't plan to port ID software code to the iPod platform till apple pick up their game. doom port is real though - it's not actually doom, but doom .wad data running over a very similar engine (from what i've heard). It needs ipod linux to work, which doesn't operate on most platforms, esp newer gen ipods eg nanos with encrypted firmware dont know about HL port though
